Firehouse Architecture The contest rules say, "All entries must depict a firefighting themed architectural structure, real or imaginary" which leaves quite a few options. Firehouses (or fire stations) come in all shapes, sizes and architectural styles. Some are made to blend in with surrounding buildings, while others were made to be unique, and stand-out from their neighbors.
Your gingerbread entry could be a fire department's training-tower, or perhaps a forest fire lookout, or for the really adventerious you could dreate a firefighting scene, complete with a burning building, fire apparatus, and gingerbread firefighters.
Gingerbread Baking Recipies There are lots of recipies for baking gingerbread, and indeed pre-baked (gingerbread house kits) aren't specificaly excluded from the rules (provided you can make it into a firehouse.
Here are links to some gingerbread baking recipies.
Gingerbread Decorating Ideas The are endless ways to decorate your house -- just remember everything must be made from 100% edible materials, but "edible materials" are not limited to sweets. Here are some suggestions on what to use to decorate and ornament your gingerbread creation.
